Have any of you caught Earth: A New Wild, PBS's latest documentary by National Geographic Studios and Dr. M. Sanjayan? It has literally set my brain on fire (picture little fireworks of thoughts and inspiration exploding in there). I love a good nature documentary, but this one goes above and beyond with a message I find incredibly encouraging. The premise? That humans and animals are meant to live together and in fact can thrive in close proximity to each other.

Ever seen that skit from Portlandia? This one. That's what my brain is like by Friday and sometimes even by Wednesday - a jumble of notes, ideas, and reminders for the entire week or more. When my head is filled with so many competing thoughts, I can't make decisions. I become paralyzed. Even with a million things to do, I can't seem to focus on just one. It's time to hit reset - to instantly clear my head - time to find a great spot outside to sit and catch the sunset. It's that simple.

One of the things that I rate pretty highly on my priority list is living in a place that is walkable or bikeable. It's so healthy to have light exercise built into your lifestyle. I grew up in the suburbs, so we drove everywhere. I don't specifically remember disliking it at the time, but there was no other choice - it was part of our way of life.
