First Shipments of Bicycle Wrap Skirts

Lara Neece October 19, 2015

The first shipments of tall natural (un-dyed) Bicycle Wrap Skirts shipped out last week!!!

Yes, yes, and yes!!! You guys have been so patient -- I can't thank you enough!

The first batch of tall skirts shipped out this week; that is the tall sizes in natural (un-dyed). If you ordered leather hip pouches, Skirt Secures, or backpacks, we are putting the finishing touches on your packages and they will be going out this week.

News from Opportunity Threads is that they will be shipping out the remaining skirt sizes to us on Monday or Tuesday.

Production progress in NC (and a little bit of travel)

Lara Neece September 15, 2015

After a week in Asheville, Morganton, and Charleston, I'm back in Savannah enjoying this amazing early fall weather. Months of rainy gray days finally gave way to blue skies and cooler temperatures this week -- woohoo!  I can finally spend some quality time outside again, and I couldn't be happier because -- it's Bicycle Wrap Skirt season!

The latest update on our skirts is: they are currently in production.

A visit to our production partners

Lara Neece July 15, 2015

We made a visit to our production facility in NC last week where we met with the great folks who will be sewing our skirts. It is important for us to keep production close to home so that we can visit regularly and develop a strong relationship with the people who will be making our products. Our foremost goal was to create a great product, but it's of the utmost importance to make sure our products are made as sustainably and ethically as possible.

3 Days of Insta Giveaways!

Lara Neece June 18, 2015

We're so excited to be in Atlanta this week for the Atlanta Cycling Festival. It's going by so quickly! On Tuesday, we participated in the the Startups, Tech, and Innovations Ride, where we outfitted two other lovely ladies in Bicycle Wrap Skirts; rode and toured several startup centers; and gave a short talk at the end of the ride. Last night, I went on the Skirts and Baggies ride (casual wear ride) along the Beltline (so cool!), and tonight I'll be heading out on the #weloveatl Instaride. It's been such a great way to see Atlanta.

In honor of this awesome week of visiting with friends, checking out the city (read: eating alot of great food), and of course plenty of bike rides, we are running three days of Instagram giveaways. You can check it out on Instagram, but here are the details:

And we're going to production!

Lara Neece June 5, 2015

The past two weeks have passed by seemingly in the blink of an eye. We had the soft launch of our Bicycle Wrap Skirt on Kickstarter on May 25th, Memorial Day, around 8pm, and then officially launched the next afternoon on the 26th. In case you somehow missed it, here's the link. Our campaign runs until the 25th of June, but I was thrilled to reach our funding goal of $10,500 in just one week! Seriously, how great is that! No more nail biting, we're going to production this summer.

Since we hit our goal so quickly, we've set a new goal of $19,500. We'll be going to production regardless, but should we meet this new goal, we'll be able to begin work immediately on expanding the Bicycle Wrap Skirt into three new styles:

Feels so good to put pencil to paper again. It’s been a while! Creative breaks have been few and far between these past few years, but luckily it all comes back pretty quickly. A little rusty and still a work in progress, but it’s a start
These toddler Hammerhead Shark tees are just too cute! They are available in 2T, 3T, and 4T sizes. I’m thinking about offering adult sizes, too. 🤔 What do you think?

My happy place lately. Social distancing has been tough for sure. Closing my shop; preschool being closed; no babysitting help; few adult conversations; zero “me time”; and no friend visits or play dates have really changed my day-to-day

Forest and Fin

We are designed to be outside.

Inspired by the environment and three-and-a-half years living on a small sailboat, designer Lara Neece spent the last of her savings to purchase equipment, set up a screen-printing studio, and create her company Forest and Fin. An award-winning artist and self-taught graphic designer, she designed and printed her first nature-inspired screen-printed apparel by hand using water-based inks and a manual press. Forest and Fin balances beauty,  functionality, and responsible design to inspire people to spend more time outside. Items are made as earth-friendly as possible with portions of revenue giving back to environmental conservation efforts.
